KIM BUI Principal
Kim Bui joined Skyline Capital Management in January 2014. He focuses on finding and evaluating investments within the technology-enabled industry and market. Mr. Bui brings to Skyline Capital over 20 years of experience in senior level strategy, M&A, business development, and marketing in telecom, wireless, network storage, and information technology industries. His specialties include negotiating and executing complex strategic alliances, joint venture, and acquisition agreements. Safi Qureshey has known Mr. Bui for over 20 years and they’ve worked together at both AST Research and Powerwave Technologies. Mr. Bui received his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and his BA in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
Mr. Bui spent over 8 years as the Vice President of Business Planning and Development for Emulex Corporation, a leader in converged networking solutions. While he was there he provided enterprise-class connectivity for servers, networks and storage devices within their data center. Mr. Bui was also responsible for in-organic growth initiatives, merger and acquisition, strategic investment, and business planning. While at Emulex, he led the acquisitions of Aarohi Communications, Sierra Logic, Server Engines, and Endace Ltd.
Previously, Mr. Bui served as Senior Director of Strategic Planning for Powerwave Technologies, where he oversaw four major acquisitions and led the strategic, business, and operational plans for integrated solutions products. He accelerated growth and helped transform Powerwave’s product roadmap by launching end-to-end solutions for the wireless infrastructure business worldwide.
Mr. Bui was a management consultant with AT Kearney and a strategy consultant with KPMG’s Information Communication and Entertainment strategy practice. During his time with the firm, he developed and helped execute strategies for several Fortune 500 companies. He is a member of the OCTANE Technology Leadership Council and the Corporate Partners Program for the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine.Back to Team
