Our senior team consist of experienced entrepreneurs, executives and investors who support and compliment our family office.  Together, they bring knowledge, relationships and resources to our portfolio companies, real estate properties, investment & strategic partners and consulting relationships.

Safi is the Founder & CEO of Skyline Capital Management and is focused on the strategic and overall direction of the company and family office.

Sohrab focuses on the development of business clusters for Skyline in the high-growth areas of Southern California’s Tech Coast and in the Dallas/Fort Worth region of Texas. He is a licensed architect with over 30 years of experience in the profession and in real estate development.

A founder and principal of Designworx, an architecture and land planning firm, Sohrab oversees all design and production work for the company and has a diverse and extensive background with projects that include research and development facilities, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, research centers, shopping centers, and mixed-use business parks, office, research, and development facilities.

Kim focuses on sourcing and evaluating investments within the technology-enabled industry and market. He brings to Skyline over 25 years of experience in senior-level strategy, M&A, business development, and marketing in telecom, wireless, network storage, and information technology industries. His specialties include negotiating and executing complex strategic alliances, joint venture, and acquisition agreements.

Kim has created numerous cloud sales and operating models spanning the full cloud lifecycle from demand creation to utilization to expansion/renewals. His latest accomplishment was the creation of a SaaS based freshness and quality management solutions for the fresh produce supply chain using innovative remote sensors and machine learning algorithms.

Kim has overseen major corporate acquisitions and has led the development and implementation of strategic, business, and operational plans for integrated solutions and products, accelerating their growth and transforming product  launching end-to-end solutions for technology businesses worldwide.

Tim Cooley

Tim is focused on the ongoing evaluation, assessment and support across Skyline’s portfolio investments. He has over 30 years of private  sector investment, board governance, management, consulting and strategic planning experience with companies ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 100 companies together with experience in the public sector focused on regional economic competitiveness. 

Tim is an experienced creative thinker working at the nexus of strategy and actionable implementation and investment with businesses, governments and academia to understand future currents and change. His insights into major trends and potential disruptions enables companies and institutions to develop and implement strategies to position themselves for success.

Yousuf is focused on Skyline’s operations and the administration of the Family Office. With over 15 years of experience managing family offices and serving the needs of high net worth individuals and their families, he has managed portfolios exceeding $25 million including public equities, private venture capital, and real estate.

At Skyline Yousuf is responsible for monitoring real estate and equity investments for optimum performance, financial management, forecasting, budgeting and tax planning for the Company and closely held businesses, creation of business entities for new ventures and administration of the family estate for asset protection.

Aki Tsurukame as CEO of California Coordinators, Inc. helped more than 25 technology companies from Japan to set up factories and sales offices in US and Mexico since 1980. He also helped Southern California technology companies to find their partners in Japan. He organized the first US-Japan technology executives conference in Tokyo in 1985, Pacific Technology Roundtables in 1987, 1990 and US-Japan IT Networking in 2000. Aki started Yugobi Inc. to help Japan’s small and medium size companies to market their products through e-commerce. Aki has received awards from City of Torrance, County of Los Angeles and the State of California. He is a graduate of Kyoto University of Foreign Studies

Professional expertise in international trading, satellite communications and broadcasting, entertainment, information technology, finance, and clean-tech.

  • Ran the Japan operations of Malaysian tycoon Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan, focusing on satellite communications and broadcasting and e-commerce.
  • Founded Japan Digital Entertainment, Inc. (Tokyo), where he wrote, developed, created and produced his own TV animation for children, “BuBu ChaCha”, which became a hit in Japan and Southeast Asia.  Was broadcast in over 20 nations and went on to develop a character merchandise franchise.
  • Produced a bestseller book in Japan and in Southeast Asia on Dr.Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, when the Prime Minister retired.
  • Co-founded Khazana, Inc. (Tokyo), a company focusing development and licensing of mobile phone software.  Clients include NTT Docomo, KDDI, Softbank, NEC, Sharp, Casio, Hitachi, Kyocera, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba, Fujitsu, LG and HTC among others. 
  • Co-founded K2i Pte Ltd (Singapore), with a focus on clean-tech. Primary objective is to acquire equity of clean-tech firms and get distribution rights for Asian and OIC countries.
  • Co-founded Hamabay Capital LLC (Tokyo), an asset management company.
  • Has raised close to US$100 million to date in equity and project financing; for his own interests, his companies, and other partner companies.  

Uns has a Degree in Business from the University of Southern California with a focus on Marketing. He has been involved in real estate and technology-oriented business ventures in the United States and Japan, working alongside his actively involved family in both areas. He has completed internships with Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and with the leading law firm of Stradling, Yocca, Carlson, and Rauth.

Uns is involved with a number of local non-profit organizations and is a California-certified firefighter and emergency medical technician.

Zeshan Qureshey
Project Director

Zeshan has a Degree in Business from Chapman University with a focus on International Business. He has been actively involved in commercial real estate development under Sohrab Charna and worked on Custer Commons, the group’s first project in Texas.

Zeshan has experience in new business evaluation and development in the U.S., Japan, Pakistan and parts of the Middle East and has made investment recommendations and participated in board meetings at many young technology companies.

Fohzia has over 16 years of experience in office/facilities management. Her most recent position was global office manager for a leading independent investment bank based in London, UK. Its main focus lies in internet, software and technology-driven companies. Her role also included running all internal and external events ranging across all size and detail.

Previous experience includes working for a leading privately owned contemporary art gallery and in the traditional artworld. Fohzia has a degree in Hospitality Management and has demonstrated how transferrable her skillset has been working within such different industries. She brings to Skyline a wealth of organisational and strong communication skills combined with natural abilities in customer/client relations across all levels.

Matthew Helminski
Creative Advisor

Matthew has over 20 years of experience in media and design. He started his career in the New York City publishing industry, where he helped build brand awareness and launch new ventures, from live music to high-end travel. He also has 15 years of experience in business English education. He has worked with Japanese business people in a broad range of industries, coaching them on communicating effectively with international partners and clientele. In Japan he also helped launch a multilingual, international cultural conference with a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation.

Matthew has a passion for visual communication and exploring how design, technology, and craft can enrich lives and bring people together. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University in 1999.
